Exploring travel habits across seven key global markets

Background

In 2024 and 2025, Silverlining Research are conducting a quantitative study on monitoring travel sentiment in seven of Europe’s most relevant overseas travel markets.
The survey captures people’s intentions to travel outside their region residence, their motivations and barriers to travel, and the key characteristics of their trips.

Method

Silverlining Research are conducting a total of 7.000 quantitative interviews per wave with a national representative of 1.000 interviews per market, with five waves during the contract period. The key markets are Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Japan, the United States and South Korea.

Results

The research is providing insights on people’s travel sentiment along with their preferences, including types of destinations and experiences, holiday periods, envisaged transport services, daily budgets, concerns relating to travel to Europe, etc.
It also enables the ETC to obtain insights on current challenges and potential future obstacles that may arise globally.
