Qualitative evaluation of StartVækst Aarhus – Local Business Support

Insight into user assessment of the local business support provided by Erhvervshus Midtjylland

Background

Silverlining Research conducted a qualitative evaluation of user experiences with StartVækst Aarhus. This evaluation was conducted on behalf of Aarhus Municipality and Erhvervshus Midtjylland.

The municipality and business centre regularly collect quantitative user feedback. As a complementary measure, they sought an in-depth qualitative study to assess the value and impact of the business support activities offered by StartVækst Aarhus. Additionally, the evaluation aimed to gather user input on potential improvements that could enhance business services in the future.

Method

Silverlining Research conducted 35 in-depth individual interviews via Teams, each lasting approximately 25-30 minutes. The interviews involved both “pre-starters” (individuals considering starting a business) and entrepreneurs, who constitute the target audience for StartVækst. All interviewees had participated in at least one individual counseling session, which is StartVækst’s primary offering.

Impact

The evaluation’s purpose was to meet Aarhus Municipality’s requirement for a user assessment of the local business support provided by Erhvervshus Midtjylland, including an assessment of the value and impact of this free service.
