Evaluation of the West Coast APP

Insights into the user experience of the VESTKYSTEN app to guide its further development.

Background

Between December 2021 and January 2022, Silverlining Research conducted an evaluation of the VESTKYSTEN app for a consortium of tourism organisations. The app, part of a wayfinding concept developed from 2019 to 2021, aims to present the West Coast as a coherent destination and support the different geographies of the area.

Method

The evaluation has included a quantitative questionnaire survey, usability tests and in-depth interviews with business stakeholders. This has been done to assess the app’s functionality and content from the perspectives of guests and business actors, prior to further development.

Results

The results have shown general satisfaction with the app despite identified bugs. The evaluation has provided valuable input for the app’s continued improvement and development in phase two.
